This large Georgian house commands an important sentinel position in Ledbury and had an unpromising slope to the lower level. This area was raised to form a level terrace for entertaining with a reflective rill and bordered with planting that complements the existing high brick walls.
- This large Georgian house commands an important sentinel position in Ledbury and had an unpromising slope to the lower level. This area was raised to form a level terrace for entertaining with a reflective rill and bordered with planting that complements the existing high brick walls. The terrace is separated from the orchard area and screened from the rest of the garden by an L-shaped row of pleached hornbeams. This also prevents the terrace being overpowered by the very high walls of the house. A labyrinth was formed by mowing the circular lawn in front of the house and enclosed with herbaceous perennials.
